It is great to be back in South Africa at the Hub of Hands At Work once again, seeing lots of old familiar faces that feel like family, as well as some new ones who have just completed their training and are about to embark on a 4 week mission stay in places like Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. They are going out to help with the crisis caused by the recent cyclone that has destroyed so many homes and caused such devistation in the lives of those who Hands at Work are caring for.
Food security remains a serious issue of many of the vulnerable communities, especially after the cyclone. This will have a devastating impact on the year to come as the crops that were about to be harvested were wiped out by the cyclone, therefore causing severe food shortages. Many many homes have also been destroyed leaving a large amount of people homeless. Also a serious concern due to the flooding is that they are expecting a huge increase in water bourne diseases and malaria.
Please join me in praying that Hands At Work will be well equipped to care for the health of their children.
